Homeschooled my entire life and also in high school, I am able to teach my students the way I have always been comfortable learning. I had no instructors, so taught myself and figured out the questions, which is something I learned to do without outside help. I also learned how to test and, aside from learning the material, to be efficient at taking the exams and adapting to the types of questions. With my experience, I strongly believe learning on our own helps us to learn things better.I can teach many subjects and these include algebra, geometry, pre-calculus, and other topics related to elementary and middle school math. Also, I teach writing, grammar and mechanics, science, music, and Mandarin Chinese while preparation for the ACT, SAT, ISEE, and other standardized tests is part of my repertoire. Majoring in Piano Performance at New York University, I am going to pursue Chemistry for Pre-Medicine as my second major. When I have the time, I like to read and listen to music; my ear buds are in during just about any free moment. I speak fluent Chinese and enjoy watching Chinese movies and other things on television, plus making my own crafts.

I just found I love to unplug from all electronics and technology for a few days (even though this means I'll get notifications for apps I didn't know I had when I get back.) Besides that, I love hanging out with friends and exploring New Haven, especially local restaurants. Music and filmmaking still continue to interest me as well.
