Private tutor in New Haven, CT
Education
SUNY Geneseo - B.S., Philosophy
Experience
After graduating with my degree in Philosophy from SUNY Geneseo, I then became a teacher and taught at a private school for several years. I taught British and World Literature, Health, Drama, and Psychology. For the past few months I tutored at a community college and worked in the Center for Academic Progress. I taught English and prepared materials for tutors. I think what makes me a good tutor is the fact I have patience, I am understanding, fun, and sensitive to the needs of my students. I really like to teach; however, instead of teaching a full class, I would rather meet with students individually. No matter the age of a student or where they are at in their lives, I accept everyone. I very much care about the student and make sure they are understanding the courses I am helping them with. I like to talk about the material, and also use positive reinforcement. When I incorporate all of these essentials, I feel as though my students communicate with me very well and like how I tutor or teach. Outside of teaching and tutoring, I like to write, play sports, play video games, and hang out with my friends.
